Meus favoritos: June

It’s the end of June which means it’s time to show you meus favoritos de junho, my monthly favorites. This month passed so quickly and I can’t believe it’s the first of July tomorrow. Maybe it’s because of the bad weather here in Germany – rain and 22 degrees Celsius. I imagined summer to be better but: new month, new hope.

Movie

Due to the European Championship, I almost watched no movie this month. However, I went to the cinema once, and this movie was so good that it managed to be mentioned on the list of my monthly favorites. It’s called Money Monster, starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney (then it’s has to be a great one!)
It‘s about the financial TV host Lee Gates, who is held hostage by a grief-stricken guy called Kyle during his live show.
The movie is thrilling from first to last with some twists I didn’t expect.
It is definitely worth watching!

Drink

My favorite drink this month definitely is this Pink Lemon Green Tea drink by the Dutch brand “Yagua”. I found it by chance in an organic supermarket in the Netherlands two weeks ago. I was afraid that it might taste too artificially sweetened but it was the opposite. I was totally surprised by its refreshing taste and was a bit sad that I only bought one package. It’s perfect for a hot summer day (or any day).

Accessoires

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this bargain at Bijou Brigitte: on sale for only 12€! (Former price: 39,99€). However, I asked myself if I really need it. After I went for a short walk in the city, my feet went automatically back to the store to buy it – I guess I would have regretted it if I hadn’t bought it. So here it is and I’m super happy.
I like especially this cute pattern and the colors. They remind me of Greece and I’m already picturing myself in a white dress with this clutch in Santorini (although I haven’t booked any flight to Greece in the near future).
The bag has two magnetical buttons in the middle so it can be unfolded to a bigger bag. The zipper on top of the bag makes it possible to store your belongings without getting lost.

Music

I’m a big fan of Shakira – as a person as well as her music. Her new song – which she sings together with Carlos Vives –  is called “La Bicicleta” (engl. = bicycle) and for me it’s the perfect summer song. It instantly reminds me of holidays and lying at a Beach in Spain.
However, it’s not about Spain but about Colombia, Shakira’s and Carlos Vives’ home country. They sing about cycling in the places and areas they grew up: Barranquilla and Santa Marta to be more precisely.
Although I don’t speak Spanish (yet 🙂 ), I can hear that the pronunciation differs a bit from the one I’m used to from other Spanish songs.
As it turned out, it’s because people in South America often don’t voice the ‘s’ in words.
